On the other hand, this report provides leaders and activists of Jordanian civil society, as well as other stakeholders: the Jordanian government, the private sector, municipalities, media, academics, international donors, and others, with a solid and modern base of information and analyses on the strengths of Jordanian civil society organizations and the weaknesses they suffer from, and provides this with a wide range of recommendations, a practical roadmap for developing the capabilities of civil society and creating an appropriate external environment for its work.
This national report provides an opportunity to closely identify the characteristics of contemporary Jordanian civil society and its strengths and weaknesses, as well as allowing for an understanding of the opportunities available to it to address the challenges and threats it faces today, which will help many donor institutions operating in Jordan, in addition to official bodies in Jordan, in setting the necessary policies, programs, and legislation to advance civil society organizations and activate their role, build their capacities, and update their knowledge and means of work, based on the data of this study, which relied on a clear scientific methodology applied in dozens of countries around the world.
In other words, this study provides an important research tool, and a reference framework for reading Jordanian civil society, as one of the foundational studies of civil society literature, which aspires to develop with the quantitative and qualitative development of civil society, and to help read its current state, but most importantly of all is that it will help foresee the future of Jordanian civil society and the potential it carries that must be supported and the challenges that must be addressed, and thinking about real mechanisms to overcome them, which paves the way for the advancement of civil society organizations more effectively.
The national team for the project, led by the New Jordan Research Center, has done well in including in this report a wide range of recommendations directed to various relevant parties, and the opportunity is taken here to invite the leaders of civil society organizations and other partners, foremost among them the Jordanian government, international organizations, donors, and others, to put these recommendations on their agenda.
